I wanted to fill you all in on a very cool iniative I recently found out about, called One Project Closer.
Every year they hold a contest that supports Habitat for Humanity and allows you to showcase an amazing project/renovation that you have done!
This week, I am the winner! Our Office Transformation (that you can see here, if you missed it before) was chosen as this weeks winner! See how One Project Closer chose to feature our winning entry here. Yippee!! Not only did I win a $50 gift card to Lowes, but the best part is that $100.00 was donated in my name, to the Habitat for Humanity.
I think its a great way to support an amazing organization and to share your incredible transformation!
Here are the details:
One Project Closer is underway with their fourth annual Before & After series supporting Habitat for Humanity.
Every week for the entire summer they're sharing a before and after story from readers like you.
To join in, submit pictures and a story from a home improvement project you worked from the past year. No project is too big or too small.
Email submissions to BeforeAndAfter@OneProjectCloser.com
One Project Closer runs this series to help raise support and awareness for Habitat for Humanity.
How do they do that?
If your submission is picked, OPC makes a $100 donation to Habitat in your honor. By the end of the Summer, they'll have donated more than a $1000! Plus, look for the Habitat fun fact on each post to learn interesting tidbits about what Habitat is doing all over the world.
That's not all!
OPC gives each winner a $50 gift card to either Home Depot, Lowe's, or Amazon (you pick), and at the end of summer the voting starts. Readers can vote for their favorite B&A, and the grand prize winner will receive another gift card for $150!
Combine that with a Lowe's coupon or Home Depot coupon, and you've got a great start to your next home improvement project. For all the official details, head over to One Project Closer and read the Before & After 2011 announcement.
You’ve put in the blood, sweat and tears, and now it’s time to show off your amazing makeover. E-mail us your submission at email@example.com. Your entry can be in the e-mail itself or attached as a Word document. Make sure to number pictures in order so it’s easy for us to reconstruct the story. Please attach the pictures as JPEGs even if you also embed them inside the Word document.
*You (including your family and friends) have to have done at least 75% of the work on the renovation! No contracted jobs for this contest!
Keep in mind that good before and afters include interesting pictures (before, during, and after) and a descriptive “how to” story. Check out the 2009 winners and 2010 winners to see examples of winning submissions from prior years.
So go check out One Project Closer!
Hope to see some of you enter into the contest and goodluck!
